I found out this morning that I was not approved for the mortgage on the Greek property. I knew that in today’s market and the way that the banks are holding onto their money, that it was a long shot. I had applied anyway, because I thought that there may be a small chance that I would actually get the money for the Greek property.

Since it did not work out, I am thinking of trying to purchase the Italian property that was offered to me on land contract. At least I know that it is a sure deal and I will finally get a second home to vacation to whenever I want.

I had promised my wife that before we turned forty that we would have a second home in some other part of the world and I think that since we are both thirty nine that I should get it done so that I have held up my end of the bargain. Although I know that Greece would be her first choice, I do not think that Italy is anything to sneeze at. When I hand her the keys, she will not care, as long as it is ours.
