New Device Makes Special Care Dentistry Easier
Health September 15th, 2009For the dentists out there that are having issues lifting their wheelchair bound patients in and out of their wheelchairs, there is something new that may be able to help them. I recently attended a medical seminar that explained a new device to aid those that practice special care dentistry.
I know that when my grandfather would go to the special care dentistry office, it would usually take a couple of people to help get him into the dentist chair that reclined so that he could have a full cleaning and exam done properly. Since wheelchairs do not recline, there was no way that he could stay in his wheelchair until now.
I am not sure if my grandfathers’ dentist has been smart enough to have this device installed in his special care dentistry practice, but I do plan on pointing it out to him the next time I take my grandfather to the dentist, if he does not already have it. I think that it is fairly new, so there may not be that many doctors and dentist that have ever heard of it yet.
If there are any new dentists getting ready to open up their own practice, I think it would be very wise to consider putting in this kind of device for their patients.
