I was looking to get a job with a Minnesota deck company that had advertised they were looking to hire. I knew that since I had some experience in the home construction business that I would have a better chance in getting the job. I had once worked for a Minnesota remodeling company that did a little bit of everything. I usually would get put on the jobs where we were installing new siding or windows, but I had helped with about twenty decks during the five years that I worked for them.

I made sure to get to the interview on time and I dressed casual but nice. I did not want them to think that I did not have enough respect for them to not dress nicely, like some of the other applicants that were there at the same time. My interview with the Minnesota deck company went very well and I felt really good afterwards. I was hoping that they would call the Minnesota remodeling company that I used to work for, to see how I had worked for them. The only reason that I left, was because I was getting married and my future wife had gotten a job in a different state. We moved back, after the company she worked for, went bankrupt.

I got the call about a week later, that I had gotten the job. I was so relieved. I am sure that the experience is what had gotten me the job.
